Continuing its revolution of the commercial van segment, the all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter offers one of the market’s best powertrain combinations ensuring superior capability and performance for commercial customer needs. Meeting all federal emissions standards, two all-new low-emission engines enable the all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter to effortlessly meet the stringent power requirements needed to support a host of commercial applications.

All-New High Performance V-6 Diesel Engine
The 2007 Dodge Sprinter is powered by an all-new high-performance 3.0-liter V-6 turbo diesel engine boasting 154 horsepower (115 kW) and maximum torque of 280 lb.-ft. (380 Nm) at 1,200 to 2,400 rpm. With an aluminum crankcase, a balancer shaft and two overhead camshafts per cylinder bank, the smooth-running engine has a low emissions rating and comes equipped with a standard particulate filter. This is the first time a diesel particulate filter has been fitted as standard in the Sprinter’s weight class. The aluminum crankcase contributes to the engine’s light weight of 643 lbs. (240 kg).

All-New V-6 Gas Engine
The all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter is also offered with an available 3.5-liter V-6 high-performance gas engine. Distributing a maximum output of 254 horsepower (189 kW) at 5,900 rpm and maximum torque of 250 lb.-ft. (339 Nm) at 2,500-5,000 rpm, this all-new engine delivers impressive power and a refined, smooth-running driving experience. The new gas engine is responsive, boasts low emissions and features a maintenance-friendly design.

Five-Speed Automatic Transmission for Maximum Smoothness
All 2007 Dodge Sprinter models are equipped with a standard five-speed automatic transmission. The five-speed automatic offers effortless shifting and maximum smoothness, well-spaced ratios, long service life and high fuel economy.

Similar to the previous model, the driver is able to change gears with an instrument panel-mounted gearshift conveniently located on the center console. The shift commands are transmitted via Bowden cables allowing the shift effort to be further reduced. If desired, the driver may limit the shift range manually by nudging the selector lever to the right or left (plus/minus). In complement to engine braking, this feature is particularly useful on inclines, slopes or downhill gradients.

Superior fuel economy along with oil change intervals of 10,000 miles contribute to the all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter’s low maintenance costs.

Engineering the All-New 2007 Dodge Sprinter
* Expanded reliability, capability and durability with all-new commercial-grade chassis
* Enhanced suspension for improved ride and handling
* New tires and 16-inch wheels standard on all models
* New height- and tilt- adjustable steering wheel
* Standard tire pressure monitoring system (2500 models)

A consistent showcase of engineering excellence, Sprinter models have earned a reputation for innovation, superior performance and manufacturing superiority. The all-new Sprinter’s unibody design delivers a light curb weight and outstanding payload. With enhanced passenger compartment strength, significant ride and comfort improvements have been achieved by redeveloping all suspension bearings to provide maximum vibration isolation. Front torsional stiffness is increased 20 percent and 100 percent at the rear, and fewer welds in the front end reduce the vehicle weight. New 16-inch wheels accommodate large-diameter brake discs and provide the foundation for improved brake system performance, while a variable speed-sensitive steering ratio allows for easy maneuvering.

The all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter features an independent shock absorber strut front suspension with wishbones. On all models, transverse leaf springs are manufactured from fibreglass-reinforced plastic, rendering them substantially lighter than conventional steel leaf springs. This also provides greater stabilizing power. A new type of spring mounting, using mainly center bearings, is used to decouple suspension and axle-locating components, significantly improving tuning possibilities.

The steering gear and transmission cross-member are also mounted on the sub-frame. In the event of an impact, controlled energy absorption is provided by side members and by the sub-frame, which detaches itself. An all-new front axle provides improved handling and higher payload capacity than the previous model with ratings between 3,970 and 4,080 lbs. Depending on model, the rear axle is also equipped with a stabilizer and new progressive-rate parabolic multi-leaf springs, optimized for easy installation.

All models of the all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter are equipped with standard 16-inch wheels. Standard fitted 215/85 R16 tires on the 3500 models and 245/75 R16 tires on the 2500 models allow for a higher load rating while delivering improved traction and handling on dry roads. All tires are secured with six mounting bolts as opposed to five on the previous model. Aluminum wheels and all-season tires are an option.

The all-new Dodge Sprinter features a highly-advanced improved braking system. New 16-inch wheels allow large-diameter brake discs to be fitted, resulting in an increased braking surface area, simplified cooling air supply and improved allocation of braking heat. Fixed-caliper disc brakes are used on all wheels ensuring excellent anti-fade characteristics and stable braking performance. Front and rear brake discs are ventilated on all models.

The all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter is equipped with standard rack-and-pinion power steering with a new height- and tilt- adjustable steering wheel. The speed-sensitive variable-ratio steering is responsive to small movements of the steering wheel providing enhanced operator control for easier maneuvering and parking. The Dodge Sprinter has an excellent curb-to-curb turning diameter of 45.2 feet.

Factory fitting of a trailer coupling eliminates the need for additional technical inspections and alterations. Depending on model, maximum towing capacity is up to 7,500 lbs.

Sprinter’s rear-wheel-drive capability provides improved reliability, handling and traction (particularly when the vehicle is loaded). Requiring fewer fuel stops than competitive vehicles, its 25-gallon fuel tank and low fuel consumption ensure an extended driving range. As before, the filler neck is located in the lower part of the B-pillar and is only accessible when the driver’s door is unlocked, preventing unauthorized use.

Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) configurations of 8,550 lbs. and 9,990 lbs. are offered as well as a new higher maximum GVWR of 11,030 lbs. for cargo vans and chassis cabs.

The All-New 2007 Dodge Sprinter Chassis Cab
Designed with the body builder in mind, the all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter Chassis Cab is a smart work-truck alternative that enables easy body installation and upfit. Its versatility begins with its flat frame rails, which provide a good mounting surface. Pallet-friendly cargo-sliding side door — With a best-in-class loading width of 51 inches, Dodge Sprinter’s new pallet-friendly cargo sliding door makes for easy loading and unloading, while new track rollers allow doors to slide smoothly and quietly. A special retainer, released mechanically when operating the door handle, prevents unintentional closing. On high-roof models, the sliding door has a second lock at the top of the door. The sliding door and rear doors may be locked and unlocked independently of cab doors for additional security.

High-density bi-xenon headlamps — Representing the latest in lighting technology and safety for vans, these new optional headlamps offer excellent low- and high-beam performance. Their high-precision projection-beam technology with a glass lens and a solenoid-controlled shutter provide exceptionally wide, bright road illumination. These high-density headlamps are equipped with automatic range adjustment and a headlamp cleaning system.

Add-Light system with cornering light function — Providing extra lighting on winding roads and when turning or maneuvering, the Add-Light system uses an H-7 halogen bulb that comes on automatically at approximately 45 miles per hour (mph). At speeds up to 25 mph, the light is also activated as a cornering light when the direction indicator is operated. So that lighting changes are not sudden, the light dims or illuminates gradually.

Integrated wide-angle mirrors with one-touch triple-flash turn signals ・Larger, exterior mirrors give the driver greater rear visibility. Power and heated versions are an available option. Manually adjustable, standard spherical wide-angle auxiliary mirrors are integrated to reduce blind spots. Available side-indicator repeaters integrated into mirror housings are new in this class. For wide-bodied vehicles, extended mirror arms are available in short and long versions.

Rain/light sensor — The optional rain/light sensor adds a continuous variable wiping mode controlled by the intensity of the rain. The sensor measures overall ambient light and light in front of the vehicle and promptly adjusts for different conditions including daylight, dusk, night or driving through tunnels or under bridges. A front windshield heater consisting of thin, wavy, horizontal heating filaments is also available as an option.

Rear-window heating and wash/wipe system — All glazed versions of the rear doors may be equipped with a new rear-window heating and wash/wipe system. For added visibility and safety, a heating filament along the wipers’ end-sweep position prevents wiper blades from freezing to the window in winter conditions. If the driver engages reverse gear when the front windshield wiper is on, rear wipers are automatically activated as well.

Innovative storage concept and air conditioned glove compartment — Innovative storage concept with space for beverages, food, glasses, maps, work papers and more. The new glove compartment is larger and more easily accessible than on the previous model, incorporates two card holders and a pen holder, and, using the air conditioning system, may be kept cool. With the optional bulkhead and mega-roof, there is an available over-cab storage area in the load compartment, ideal for accommodating larger items including bags, tool cases, helmets, rainwear, etc. There is also additional overhead storage above the windshield which is standard.

Seats with quick-release latches ・Passenger van seats are equipped with quick-release latches allowing them to be removed from the vehicle quickly and without tools. Of special interest for the parcel delivery sector is the optional flip-up seat on the front-passenger side, available in conjunction with the bulkhead. The optional bulkhead with a sliding door provides quick access to the cargo compartment. There is also an available two-seat bench with a fold out work surface and under seat storage.

Center console ・Completely redesigned, center console features controls for the entertainment and navigation center, air conditioning and heating systems, hazard warning light switch, a note holder, a 12-volt socket and two cup holders.

Audio entertainment systems — In addition to a standard AM/FM CD radio, upgraded options include a six-disc CD changer and hands-free telephone systems which may be controlled by the multi-functional steering wheel.

Air conditioning systems — A range of air conditioning systems are available. The Tempmatic front air conditioning system adequately provides air conditioning for the driver and co-driver and for the first passenger seat row. Air conditioning is also provided for the glove compartment via a separate air duct and slide control. To increase the cooling performance for passenger vans, a roof-mounted air conditioning unit is available.

Heating system — Now an air-blending system instead of the previous coolant-controlled system, the new standard heating system responds quickly and the temperature may be precisely controlled. Air ducts and outlets have also been revised for uniform ventilation.

Electric heater booster ・Benefiting from efficiency improvements to Sprinter’s diesel engine, some models are equipped with a standard electric heater booster. It is activated automatically after starting the engine which substantially increases the heater output temperature. When reaching a pre-set outside temperature or interior temperature of 80 degrees, the heater booster switches off automatically.

Exterior ・Bold, Powerful Design Conveys Instant Recognition
Unmistakably a Dodge, clear design themes found in the all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter begin with the distinctive contours that start at the grille aperture, encompass the iconic Ram-head badge and run the perimeter of the vehicle. On each side, new integrated wide-angle mirrors provide excellent rear visibility. Serving a convenient and practical function, recessed steps in the front bumper make it easy to access and clean the large windshield.

A continuous sidewall line rises and widens from front to rear, giving the vehicle a sensation of forward movement. The side design is also dominated by large rub strips which run from the front and rear bumpers. The rain channel has been discreetly integrated into the roof area and the wide side rub panels reinforce a sense of harmony and visual unity. These lines are fluently integrated into the curvature of the sidewalls creating a natural transition between front and rear bumpers.

From the rear view, the 2007 Dodge Sprinter makes a clear break from conventional van design. Stylish rear lights blend in with lines of the vehicle. A raised third brakelight is standard on passenger vans and optional for cargo vans. Chassis cab versions have eight-chamber rear lights incorporating side marker, clearance lighting and the license plate light. Lower parts of the sidewalls, bumpers and rear doors have a pronounced taper without sacrificing load space. The striking Ram-head badge is also boldly positioned at the rear, located between the rear doors.

Like most work vehicles, commercial vans are on the road at all times day or night and in all types of weather, so better-than-good visibility was a prevailing design and safety consideration. Distinctive, newly developed clear-lens halogen H-7 headlamps provide improved night vision due to their long range and wide roadside illumination.

Twenty exterior paint colors ・the most in the segment — form a diverse offering including new colors Velvet Red, Hibiscus Red, Aqua Green, and Anemone Blue.

Interior Cab Showcases Convenience and Spacious, User-friendly Cockpit
The all-new 2007 Dodge Sprinter offers convenience, safety and security in a workspace that has been optimized to provide enhanced comfort, ergonomics and functionality. The interior of the new Sprinter features a comfortable cockpit with materials that have a high-quality look and feel. Controls are clearly laid out, may be accessed easily, and are organized in logical groups around the driver, in the doors and center console. A redesigned steering wheel is standard with telescoping height and tilt adjustment, as well as optional multi-function controls enabling use of telephone and entertainment system controls.

For even more convenient entry and exit, the height of the door opening has been increased by nearly five inches. A slight reduction in the maximum opening angle of the door, from 73 to 64 degrees, has ergonomic benefits since the handle of the opened door is easier to reach from the seat. This also reduces the risk of damage when opening the door in narrow parking spaces.

Various seat versions are available, up to and including a suspension seat. For cargo vans and chassis cabs, the base of the optional double co-driver seat is designed as a storage compartment, which may be accessed by folding the seat cushion forward. A folding segment in the backrest of the center seat may be folded down and used as a work table or breakfast table. A convenient work station, the tabletop incorporates two cup holders and a pen holder.

The 2007 Dodge Sprinter’s all-new instrument cluster is available in two versions. The standard version provides basic information such as mileage, time, outside temperature, tire pressure monitoring system (2500 models), gear selection and other information shown in a clearly organized display. An enhanced instrument cluster comes with an optional multi-function steering wheel and includes, among other things, an analog fuel gauge, chromed-ringed dials and a digital speedometer.
